Hello everyone & hello TransFans. I would like to begin my journey here by posting a brief life story of myself and I hope to motivate and inspire everyone with it.

My name is Randy Amora, a 36-year-old transgender woman from a small town in Davao City.
Right now I’m working as an independent contractor commonly known as Virtual Assistant from 2019 up to this present year.
To be completely honest I was not able to reach college due to poverty and also because of my physical disorder. I only got to finish high school with the help of the Alternative Learning System(ALS) in the year 2008 and I was able to finally enter the BPO industry with my diploma as an ALS graduate.

Now in this next part, I would like to share with you about my physical disorder.

For 36 years now, I have been living with an Auto-immune skin disorder called “Bullous Pemphigoid” which affected a very wide portion of both of my legs and some parts of my hands.
This is a rare type of skin disorder that is not contagious, not transmittable, and not a viral infection but it’s hereditary. It goes with your genes and can be passed on to your future children or grandchildren. But in my case, I'm the only one in our family who has this kind of disorder, and according to the dermatologists that I consulted, I may be the first in our descent to ever have an auto-immune disease.
Aside from this affecting my entire body this also had a huge effect on my life particularly in terms of seeking employment.
Indeed this auto-immune disease took away my dreams and ambitions.
I used to dream of finishing culinary arts and becoming an international chef or maybe putting up my own food business.
But I lost hope with the reality that no one would like to eat food that is served or prepared by someone with a skin disorder.

Luckily the BPO industry doesn’t discriminate against applicants with physical disorders like me and that's how I was able to make a change in my life. I started making a career in the BPO industry in the year 2014 until I decided to start freelancing in 2019 which led me to become a virtual assistant for five successful years now.

I am sharing this not for popularity but because I want to inspire other people with my story, especially those who are in almost the same situation as me. I want to change the way people look at themselves and I wish for them to keep a positive mind despite whatever situation they have. There is nothing in this world that could kill hope so don’t you lose that light of hope in your heart.

STAY BLESSED EVERYONE & LET’S LOVE OURSELVES MORE.
